Vivarium

Opened in 2001, the BBU Vivarium offers visitors a permanent collection of approximately 60 species and hundreds of live animals. They belong to various taxonomic groups: reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds, and invertebrates, both native and exotic. Although they come from all continents except Antarctica, the animals are presented in terrariums designed to resemble their natural environment as closely as possible. They are fed according to their specific needs.

Zoological Museum

Established in 1859 as a section of the Transylvanian Museum, the Zoological Museum of Babeș-Bolyai University is one of the most impressive museums of its kind in Romania, housing some of the oldest collections in South-Eastern Europe.

Paleontology and Stratigraphy Museum

The Paleontology and Stratigraphy Museum holds an impressive collection of fossils and rocks from both Romania and abroad. Of great historical and scientific value, the educational and scientific collections serve as valuable research and educational tools, playing a crucial role in understanding the Earth’s sciences. Thus, through its specific nature, the Museum of Paleontology and Stratigraphy conducts activities in the field of natural sciences, targeting both natural science students and the general public of all ages.

Mineralogy Museum

The Mineralogy Museum is a unique world filled with crystals, precious stones, mineral flowers, gemstones, and meteorites. Although it has been a place of study and in-depth learning for geology students and specialists since its beginnings, the general public is always welcome to discover the museum’s treasures.

University History Museum

The University History Museum’s collections include over 1,000 original items and facsimiles (student notebooks, yearbooks, university textbooks, documents, diplomas, postcards, photos, various scientific instruments, medals, etc.) that illustrate the teaching and research activities of past and present students and professors.

Alexandru Duma Museum

The Alexandru Duma Museum is a place for remembering the First World War, based on the individual experience of Alexandru Duma, a young Transylvanian artist who became a soldier in the Austro-Hungarian Army.
