The medicinal plants (cases 11-16) are used for this purpose in their original form or by extracting from their diverse organs some substances with a beneficial effect in treating various diseases, i.e. the so-called active substances or medicines. The plants known from a scientific point of view are exhibited with their organs used for extracting different medicines as they are mentioned in the Romanian Pharmacopoeia. In addition, there are exposed two collections of "folk pharmacies".
