The outdoor collection is on display in the inner courtyard of Babeș-Bolyai University, at the entrance to the Museum of Paleontology and Stratigraphy. This collection includes large blocks of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks, polished slabs of fossiliferous limestone used in construction, stalagmite formations from caves, imposing basalt columns (basalt from Racoș, Perșani Mountains), as well as concretions from Feleac (Cluj), spectacular due to their large size and diverse morphology.
