The collection represents the contribution of the Romanian soil to the universal mineralogical heritage. It includes approx. 45 samples of species discovered and described for the first time in the scholarly literature on the country’s current territory. They are mostly mineral rarities such as tellurium and tellurium minerals (sylvanite, tellurite, nagyagite, alburnite, etc.), but also rhodochrosite, krautite, and hemimorphite.
