The herpetological collections (amphibians and reptiles) contain about 5,000 specimens, representing 45 species of amphibians and 120 species of reptiles.

The herpetology collection consists of specimens of both exotic species and Romanian fauna. It contains a variety of species from different families and orders, compiled from the works of several naturalists. Many specimens come from the collection of herpetologist Bogdan Stugren.

Among the valuable species in the amphibian and reptile collections are crocodilian specimens from Asia, Africa, and the Americas, the giant tortoise, and the Tuatara specimen (living fossil).

The specimens are naturalized or preserved in liquid (ethanol or formalin).
